BLACKSWORD
DRACAENA BLACK KNIGHT
DRACAENA MARGINATA TOP
Dracaena marginata
Dracaena marginata is a member of the ancient dragon tree family and is found growing wild in Mauritius. It’s a beautiful plant, with wonderful sword like leaves. But there is another variety grown for its foliage alone.
It's a fairly slow growing plant, eventually reaching about 3 to 4 metres. It has bold, dramatic foliage, so it's best used en masse.
FICUS
Ficus benjamina, commonly known as the Weeping Fig or Benjamin's Fig, is a species of fig tree, native to south and southeast Asia and Australia. It is the official tree of Bangkok, Thailand. It is a topiary tree reaching 30 metres (98 ft) tall in natural conditions, with gracefully drooping branchlets and glossy leaves 6-13 cm (2-5 in) long, It is a very popular house plant in temperate areas, due to its elegant growth and tolerance of poor growing conditions; it does best under bright, sunny conditions but will also tolerate considerable shade. It requires a moderate amount of watering in summer, and only enough to keep it from drying out in the winter. It does not need to be misted. The plant is sensitive to cold and should be protected from strong drafts. When grown indoors, it can grow too large for its situation, and may need drastic pruning or replacing.
The leaves are very sensitive to small changes in light. When it is re-located it reacts by dropping many of its leaves and replacing them with new leaves adapted to the new light intensity.
Golden Cane Palm
The Golden Cane palm is a clustering palm, with up to about a dozen golden coloured trunks, but no main trunk. The trunks curve out from the base, while the feather leaves recurve as well. One of the most popular palms in the tropics and sub-tropics, due to its ease of growth, and attractiveness. Used for both landscaping duties (especially as a screen, even hedge), as well as an indoor plant.
Kenita Palm
The Kentia palm (Howea forsteriana) is one of the most beautiful palms in the world, and is suitable for growing either indoors or outdoors. An Australian native palm, the kentia has been grown in Europe since the1850s. During the 19th and early 20th century it was a fashionable plant used for interior decoration (the palm of the popular Palm Court Orchestra). Today it continues to be highly favoured as an indoor plant and is grown around the world.
Kentia palms will grow slowly in a tub for many years.
MOTHER IN LAWS TONGUE
It is now used predominantly as an ornamental plant, outdoors in warmer climates, and indoors as a houseplant in cooler climates. It is popular as a houseplant as it is tolerant of low light levels and irregular watering; during winter it needs only one watering every couple of months. It will rot easily if overwatered. It is also often used as an air filtering plant because it has a tendency to absorb certain poisonous substances.
Parlour Palm, Chamaedorea Elegans
Well suited for indoor use. Ideal size for modern interiors. Graceful soft fern-like fronds with thin leaflets. Requires little water.

Pothos - Golden, Marble Queen, Jade
Pothos and more correctly Epipremnum aureum is known from its yellow-marbled heart-shaped leaves. If it isn’t the #1 indoor plant in North America is certainly is one of the top ones and certainly in the Top 10 "Best Houseplants".
Pothos also goes by a few other names – devil’s ivy, pothos ivy and has a few cultivars.
You find Pothos used as a ground cover, planted in hanging baskets, or as a desk accent.
One of the primary reasons Pothos continues in popularity is that it can tolerate lower light, lower humidity and cooler temperatures than many other plants.
Pothos does not like wet feet and the soil should not stay too moist.
Rhapis excelsa
Rhapis excelsa is a multi-stemmed dioecious (Ed: or hermaphroditic depending on seed grown variety) palm that grows to a maximum height of between 3 and 4 metres, each stem or cane is slender ranging from 10-30mm in diameter, depending on growing conditions and variety.
RUBBER TREE
Elastica leaves and stems and even wood 'bleed' white sticky sap when broken or damaged from which rubber can be made.
As a houseplant, Ficus is very popular. Able to adapt to and endure lower light conditions and generally poor treatment, The Rubber Tree is a winner indoors. Provide as much light as possible, keep away from cold and drafts in winter, keep soil lightly to moderately moist with good drainage. Most any soil will be fine and largely sandy soils mixed with some organics are ideal.
Chamaedorea seifrizii
A tall, (to about 3m) densely clumping palm, with canes up to about 1cm in diameter.
Sunny, moist, but well drained position. Needs shade when young, but can take full sun as it gets older. The most cold tolerant of the bamboo Chamaedoreas.
SPATHIPHYLLUM 'SENSATION'® PAT #6964
Unlike most other varieties of Spathiphyllum, 'Sensation' has some very distinct characteristics that offer durability with beauty and versatility.
The NASA Study found that Spathiphyllum is one of the top 10 plants to "clean air" and help fight "Sick Building Syndrome".
UMBRELLA TREE
The growth of ‘Amate’ is very upright, symmetrical and uniform. Plants ranging in size from 8 - 14 inch keep many of their lower leaves providing a more "bush" like appearance. Larger plants will have more of a "tree-like" appearance. ‘Amate’ also holds leaves very well, even under low light interior conditions.
The plant doesn’t stretch like the regular Schefflera. You can place ‘Amate’ in areas which get morning sun, a northern exposure or even fluorescent lighting and still keep the plant looking good.
When plants are indoors lighting is always an issue and important. ‘Amate’ has large leaves which have a naturally lush glossy look… like they’ve been polished. This also means that dirt and dust can accumulate on the leaf surface. Clean the leaves by wiping then down regularly.
'Amate' is not difficult to care for, but doesn’t like to have its feet kept wet. When watering make sure the soil is thoroughly watered and the excess is allowed to drain off. It’s best to keep the plant on the dry side as wet soil can cause root rot.
YUCCA ELEPHANTIPES
Yucca elephantipes is one of the most versatile indoor and outdoor foliage plants. With its striking architectural shape it can be grown in garden beds and as a spectacular hardy pot plant exposed to sun, frost, heat and wind.
Yuccas need very little care once planted in the ground, fertilise 2-3 times per year. For care in pots position them in a well lit area. Yuccas need some natural light to maintain vigor. If they are grown indoors and are looking tired strip back any old or spotted leaves, pot up to a larger pot and leave outdoors in a semi shaded position for 3-6 months.
